Riva Interior Design Project
When you move into a new home, you want to make it your own. The homeowner had been shopping in the boutique for some time, and she wanted to work with me as soon as she purchased her new home. This client has a very eclectic style. She likes vintage style, transitional style, feminine elements, fun colors, and artwork. The call to rein in all these elements, while also reflecting her fun spirit, was a challenge I was excited to embark on! This project took nearly 15 months, and the results are stunning! We began with the main floor area, including the half bath, living room, and dining room. Earlier this year we moved to the master bathroom and completely remodeled it. The main living area boasts bursts of warm blues and grays and textural elements such as pillows, rugs, and airy faux botanicals to bring the spaces together seamlessly. The master bathroom felt cramped, so I eliminated a very tiny closet in the adjacent hallway, making room for a larger shower, and replaced the main door with a pocket door, both of which dramatically changed the look of the entire space. I removed the dated, oversized vanity and replaced it with one that looks more like custom furniture. I also replaced the knobs on the vanity with ones that are tiny glass rosebuds with soft gold base to them – so softly feminine. The chandelier is absolutely stunning – complete with pearl beads. The wall behind the toilet was enormous and bare serving no purpose; now it is both practical and beautiful! The homeowner joyfully shares photos of her beautifully renovated spaces to all her family, friends and people at the gym!
I worked with Maria on my powder room, living and dining room as well as the master bathroom. It all turned out better and more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. Elegant yet comfortable. It also reflected me and my personality. I could never have done this without the help, guidance, and style of Maria. She is a treasure!
